Author Guidelines
TITLE PAGE
Please include the following informations on the title page.
Title should be concise and informative about the content of the article.
- The name(s) of the author(s).
- The affiliation(s) of the author(s), i.e. department, institution, city, country.
- An email address of the corresponding author.
For unaffiliated athours, it is enough to put their city and country of residence.
The abstract was written using Cambria-11 and should not contain any abbreviations or references. The abstract written in one paragraph of 150 to 300 words and contains about the content of the article.
Please provide 4 to 6 keywords that can be used for indexing purposes.
TEXT
The manuscripts must be written according to the Word Template provided by Decimal: Jurnal Matematika.
- Use Cambria-12pt font for the main text.
- Use italics to emphasize special terms.
- Do not use field functions.
- Use tab stops or other commands for indents, not the space bar.
- Use the table function, not spreadsheets, to make tables.
- Use the equation editor or MathType for equations.
Abbreviations should be defined first and used consistently thereafter.
Writing a table must take into account the following.
- All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
- Tables should always be cited in text.
- For each table, please provide a table caption (title) that describes the table components.
- Identify any previously published material by providing the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table caption.
Writing a figure must take into account the following.
- All figures are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
- Figures should always be cited in text.
- For each figure, please provide a figure caption (title) that describes the figure components.
- Identify any previously published material by providing the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the figure caption.
Articles writing for this journal is divided into two types, namely:
IMRaD
This type of article writing method is usually used on research results in the field of applied mathematics, namely Educational Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Statistical Mathematics, and Mathematical Modeling. The structure of this article is
- Introduction: In the Introduction, the Author should state the objectives of the work at the end of the introductory section. Prior to the objective, the Author should provide sufficient background (maximum 1 paragraph), and a very brief review / literature review to record existing solutions / methods, to show the best of previous research, to show the main limitations of previous research, to show what which you hope to achieve (to resolve limitations), and to demonstrate the scientific merit or novelty of the paper. Avoid detailed literature reviews or summaries of results. Do not describe the literature review/review as author by author, but should be presented as a group of each method or topic reviewed that refers to some literature. Before the objective and after the literature review, the author must state a gap analysis or novelty statement to show why this paper is important and what is the unique idea of this paper compared to the recommendations of other previous researchers.
- Research Method: The methods are implemented to solve problems including analytical methods. The methods used in research problem solving are described in this section. Published methods should be indicated by reference: only relevant modifications should be described. Do not repeat the details of a predetermined method.
- Result and Discussion: The decision should be clear and concise. The results should summarize (scientific) findings rather than provide data in detail. Please highlight differences between your results or findings and previous publications by other researchers. Discussions should explore the importance of the work, not repeat it. The combined Decisions and Discussion sections are often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussions of the published literature.
In discussion, it is the most important part of your article. Here you get the opportunity to sell your data. Make the discussion match the results, but don’t repeat the results. It should often begin with a brief summary of key scientific findings (not experimental results). The following components should be covered in discussion:
- How do your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section? What is your finding of research? (what/how)?
- Do you provide interpretation scientifically for each of your results or findings presented? This scientific interpretation must be supported by valid analysis and characterization (why)?
- Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)? Or are there any differences?
NON-IMRaD
This type of article writing method is usually used on research results in Pure Mathematics, such as analysis, abstract algebra, etc., and review articles. There is no specific rules on non-IMRaD article, usually non-IMRaD methods begin with introduction and continue with discussion and conclusion.
Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. shall be placed in a separate section. If grant or fund is provided by a particular organization, the name of the organization must be written in full.
REFERENCES
Citation
Reference citations in the article should be identified by author(s) name and publication year in bracket. Some examples:
The research results show that more than 70% of students cannot recognizing authentic problems . . . (Retnawati, 2014).
F(b) is a cofilter for any b element B. (Puninski & Toffalori, 2015).
Attention guided scaling network for fast and accurate image denoising . . . (Zhang et al, 2021)
Reference list
The reference list should only include works that are cited in the article and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works may only be mentioned in the text.
Writing a reference list must follow the APA Style. Some examples:

Submission Preparation Checklist
