AKULTURASI DAN ASIMILASI DALAM KONTEKS INTERAKSI ANTAR ETNIK

Abstract

Acculturation and assimilation are two very important
concepts in sociology and anthropology that describe
cross cultural effects on both minorities as well as
majorities in societies that are multi ethnic and multi
cultural in nature. There are two different views about
the tendencies of acculturation and asimiliasi in the
context of inter-ethnic interaction. Two trends that
view is constructed two models of ethnic identity,
ethnic Exclusive and Inclusive. Exclusive assess
ethnicity as ethnic tribes should be given priority,
assess ethnic inclusive as a rival, and that sometimes,
hampering the progress of ethnic for acculturation and
assimilation. Because of exclusive ethnic tend to keep
a distance, on the contrary, the inclusive one judge
himself has an equal position to the other.
