FEMINISM MOVEMENT THROUGH WOMEN'S INVOLVEMENT IN POLITICAL ACTIVITIES ACCORDING TO ISLAMIC VIEWS

Sinta Apriyani, Anugrah Bangsawan

Abstract

Currently in parts of the world the existence of women's leadership or women's involvement in political activities rises to the surface. The state plays an important role in a view of feminism in the country. Feminism is defined as a women's movement to seek women's independence/freedom for women in fulfilling their rights and equality in politics. This research argues that feminist approaches to women's struggles in political engagement are very important to understand. This study tries to explain feminist analysis of women's leadership in a country or region in Indonesia and internationally that the existence of a feminist movement directly provides benefits for women to fight for women in political activities. But in fact, the perspective of feminism in women's leadership is very contrary to the Islamic perspective on women's leadership. Although until now it is still a debate among scholars about the position of women in political activities. In Indonesia, women's struggle for power or political involvement has shifted Islamic views on limitations in women's leadership and created a feminist view that women can fight for their rights and equality in the political space.
